So here it is: the dangit bird. Based off of a fencing club joke at poor Brian's expense. This was originally going to be a fun little present for him, but I got rather carried away... oh well. I'm very pleased with the end result, except the colors change from moniter to moniter and they don't always come out looking just right. At least the fencing club got a laugh out of it. Yes, Brian did get a print of this, finally. Chelsea [that's the name of our teacher, not the student at school] got the extra copy. Hear that guys? It's LIMITED EDITION. Until I decide to add a copy to my BEDROOM WALL OF FAME.
Trust me, the original was a LOT more detailed than this. Unfortunately, if I uploaded the 300-DPI version, your poor widdle computers would CRASH and BURN. It was about 17 megabytes when I finished. I don't even want to TRY to count how many hours this took me. The sketch took me a week of odd moments, inking took a day, base color took about a week of lazy work, but the shading... three weeks of bipolar obsession. AAGH. BRAIN. DEAD. NO. MORE. ART.
...i am now going to proceed to be as critical as possible
*the colors arent right*
*those birds dont exist*
*their beaks are too long*
*my feet hurt*
*the pink birds have no feets*

Fear me!!!!!
Fear me and my dreaded LLAMA LIGHTNING!!!!!!!
Actually, their beaks are supposed to be precisely that length, since they're sortof-fencing with them. And the pink bird's feet are hidden behind it's feathery furry mass.
i know, i was just being a jerk cuz i saw that u didnt want critique. i actually think they are good and i praise you for the effort u put on them. i would have gotten bored long before that.

all those days in the computer lab with people looking at your monitor asking, "UM... WHAT IS THAT? " paid off?
Definitely paid off. And cued another round of "Dangit" jokes from the teacher. (She's cool like that.) But I was tempted to start bringing windex'd darts to school after the fourth of fifth "WHOAH WAIT WTF IS THAT?"

This would make more sense, given characters would return to the planet later in the series and not face any of the negative effects of being in a black hole, such as dying horribly.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
